Design Process

The Journey of a Print: From Inspiration to Production ✨

In this project, I documented step by step how a print comes to life. From image selection and clean-up to composition and color variations, I worked through each stage of the process and ultimately created three different variations that can be adapted to different collections.

The videos below offer a time-lapse overview of this transformation process.

1

Everything started with an intuitive choice. I selected an image with strong potential that was not directly suitable for printing, with the aim of transforming it into a textile print design.

2

I digitally adjusted unnecessary details, imperfections and excess colors in the image, while taking particular care to preserve its original character.

Clean-up

3

I repositioned the cleaned elements and created a repeating arrangement. By developing a seamless repeat, I aimed to achieve a fluid and balanced appearance across the fabric. Throughout the placement process, I repeatedly refined the relationship between density and negative space.

Placement & Composition

4

I used transparent transitions, subtle lighting effects and textural details to give the print greater depth and a more vibrant appearance on the surface.

Digital Touches

5

I created three different color variations, each developed to respond to a different collection direction.

Color Variations

6

I prepared all variations in high-resolution, print-ready formats, ready to be integrated into collections and production workflows.

Swimwear & Resort 2027 Print Collection

A curated print collection developed specifically for the Spring/Summer 2027 season, featuring four original print stories designed for women’s swimwear and resortwear. Inspired by SS27 color, print, and fashion trends, the collection brings together trend-relevant palettes, contemporary motifs, and a cohesive seasonal direction.

The project includes original print development, colorway creation, product application, and presentation boards. Each design was translated into swimwear silhouettes with coordinated palettes and multiple color variations, combining creative direction with production-aware print placement to create a cohesive and market-ready SS27 collection.

Womenswear Print Collection

A curated selection of original prints developed for contemporary womenswear collections, exploring floral, abstract, geometric, and decorative directions across a range of scales and compositions. Each design is developed with color balance, repeat structure, fabric application, and commercial versatility in mind, combining creative expression with production-ready execution.

Silk Scarf Design

A curated collection featuring four original 90 × 90 cm silk scarf designs, developed with a focus on balanced composition, decorative motif placement, and strong visual impact. The project includes original scarf artwork, draped mockups, colorway development, and finished product visuals, showing how each design translates across multiple color options and performs when folded, tied, and worn.

Shawl Design

A curated collection featuring four original 75 × 200 cm shawl designs, developed with a focus on balanced composition, border construction, decorative motif placement, and visual continuity across the full artwork. Each design is presented through the original flat artwork, close-up pattern details, and finished product visuals, showing how the composition and placement translate from the digital design into the final worn product.

Garment Placement

This project shows a multi-piece garment placement design developed across several pattern pieces, including skirt front/back, top right/left panels, right/left sleeves, and top back. The artwork was positioned to create a balanced visual flow across the garment while keeping the layout suitable for production and pattern application.

Home Textiles

A curated home textile print collection featuring original designs developed for bedding, decorative pillows, bath textiles, table textiles, and decorative fabrics. The project focuses on translating print concepts into different product applications while maintaining strong color, composition, scale, and visual balance. Each design was developed with commercial use and production-ready presentation in mind.
